Concentration
Get acquainted with the God within you, so that you may
know Him for yourself, and make
the. conjoining of spirit, soul and body a true union. This is the
greatest truth that can engage
the attention of human thought, and it is unknown to the masses of
earth's denizens.
Hypnotists, clairvoyants, and mindreaders are illustrations of
what a comparatively limited
degree of concentration will do for developing the mind. It is true
that many such persons use
their mind development for selfish ends; no honest, or real man, ever
does that. Any mind
(spirit) to become supremely powerful must have no material attachment
or desires;
absolute honesty and universal love arc essential.
Some persons are bom predisposed to this Psychic state, some are
taught, and others seem
to blunder upon it without knowing just how they obtain their powers.
Every great genius,
every great reformer, and in fact every great character of any sort,
must have more or less of
Psychic power.
If we want to press onward in spirit growth, we must seek to
attain those graces which
accompany a state of advanced spirituality; and above all, we want to
learn the truth about
spirit-life from the good spirits themselves. Not speculations, or
theories that do not explain,
but facts of spirit-life constitute the kind of knowledge that gives us
proof of immortality.
Knowledge, the so-called tree of life, brings the harvest of
good thoughts and good wishes,
and comes to us when we strive to develop that spirituality that leads
to an understanding of
spirit-life.
Spiritual growth implies that the fruits of spiritual knowledge have
been appropriated,
whereby the vision of a heavenly life becomes a priceless possession;
and all who seek, with
steadfast effort, to garner spiritual fruit will surely be helped, with
success, by spirit friends.
